Been watching many shows on tv recently, making use of the limited cable tv..just finished watching "Umizaru" - literally means "Sea Monkeys" in Japanese. Thought it was going to be some lame show, but turned out not bad, not bad at all. It's funny, all their stupid competitions, the way some of them are so short and some so tall, the way they love showing off their butts. But there's the serious side too, the strong bonds and camaraderie they shared, the importance of one's buddy. And heroism, that's how movies go, isn't it? Daisuke Senzaki, played by Hideaki Ito - I'm sure I've seen him in some Japanese drama before, just not such what. Somehow, his character reminded me a lot of a friend. Not a movie many would call fantastic. But I admire the way that even though it's not really a long story line but there are lots of detailed scenes, some carrying extra meaning that you wil only realise later on.
