Origami Flowers by Hiromi Hayashi

this is totally amazing..she's made lots and lots of origami flowers..if you click on the links on the right side, you can get to see flowers, classified by seasons! seasons, u know!? and there are many many paper flowers for each season..even like orchids and i like the blue star flowers :) argh, feel inspired..but those are really tough..she makes them seem so realistic! from what i can comprehend, seems that her daughter used to be sick and she realised how flowers would brightened things up and encouraged people, so she decided to fold all these flowers. she even published a book la! all on origami flowers..how cool is that? a pity i can't find her book in the library >.<

decided to experiment making ferrero rocher roses out of the ferrero rocher foil, after getting inspired by my hall ppl discussing it..operation success! however, it's slightly diff from the one in the commercial, yep, which i m pretty sure they had to make perfectly, using diff pieces? cos the stem is so straight and even...

ok, now i can go and conduct classes for the guys - charming girls with origami, just in time for valentine's day..

sigh..is being good at such things a curse or a blessing? generally i feel that it's a blessing..it's nice to be able to create pretty things..however, that means that i wouldn't be that easily charmed by any guy who folds cranes or whatever..even the kawasaki rose, cos i can make it on my own..haha..ok, but guess i might succumb to a bunch of nicely made kawasaki roses, complete with stems and leaves..or a glowing kawasaki rose!

This is the Site of Everlasting Origami Paper Roses...kinda funny name? sounds like some orbituary :x haha..many other rose instructions here..i've tried kawasaki before and it's difficult! moreover, i dun think it really look like the real thing..seems like the dollar bill rose looks the most realistic..question question: how am i going to get my hands on canadian notes? gotta get the dimensions and cut my own paper, i guess..so "leh chey"!

My $1.90 Packet of Joy

somehow this sounds familiar, cant rem what i referred to last time..am quite sure i said it to ryl though, shall ask her soon..anyway, you can see what i am referring to here - double-sided colour origami paper for kusudama origami! :) wah, that website is "takai"...so expensive! £3.30 = S$9.29444 according to XE.com - The Universal Currency Converter ® oh my gosh! i bought it from kinokuniya for $1.90! "totemo totemo takai ne!" = "very very expensive!" yeah, going to fold a small version of that pretty little thing! i need to do something with my hands when i'm doing webcast, if not i'll just bored..

gosh and there are some very lovely japanese paper here! so pretty, i want! but haha dunno what i'm gonna do with it..i love this, so sweet! hmm can make pretty flowers :) but oh well, i need to use all the origami paper and stuff that i've stocked up on..just found lotsa paper etc that i bought and never use! you'll be shocked at my collection!

My Origami Balls

the newest addition, which took many days and many hours! a nicer photo and instructions here! or ask me for the microsoft, printer-friendly version :) i dunno why but it's got a boring name called sphere 94..i love the stars! it looks like a football! i wanted to kick it ard, but realise it's too fragile..*haha :p the book it's on is a book aptly called "in the eye of the beholder"..the 1st psychology book that i ever felt like reading, of my own accord..

hmm a colourful ball using store-bought origami paper..folded in a simpler way than the method i know..

its paler twin which i do not really like.. a beautiful kusudama - hmm not sure what it really means..but i read b4 that olden times, Japanese used to hang balls of herbs at the end of a sick person's bed, so that the person will recover faster. this is the oldest, it's been gathering dust in my display cabinets since 20?? my grandma loves this! she has one of them..though she wants two..well, it will have to wait.. this one is really quite difficult to fold and put together..requires sewing! oh, but i just a really pretty version of the small one at chinatown, gonna make one soon!

*realise that everything kinda has stars in it? the beauty of it all! :)

i thot of a way to immortalise exam papers!! :) cut them into strips and transform them into the star below, make 12 of the below and u can form a nice ball! *haha..sadistic right? learn the method of knotology here..

i've said it once, i'll say it again...i love rainy days! :) 2day's a really really cold day, am i glad i'm home..er, spent the day sleeping, reading, doing origami, keep going out for small errands, as the director of the driver...*haha..found some amazing sites for origami such as this it's really wow! but need a lot of time and effort..a pity there's no instructions...but think can roughly guess..i'm glad i've found someone who's interested in modular origami during yv camp! she's been around since 2002 but guessed i just din get to know her..btw, pls check this out, yvip blog! the genius who did this is not me..*haha...yah, it's just, i'm amazed, really, he just do and do and did all this in 1 night...there's just lots and lots of things i wanna write but cant really rem them all...scared tt my leaky little brain will let all the impt stuff sieve out b4 i get them down..my thots r running again...oh well, just glad tt i'm going 2c fion, jx and cc tmw! :) pity shum isnt ard..and wx, we gotta meet soon! i'm going to start looking for another bike soon...soon...
