yeah, just finshed an essay...pretty tired, just finished the timed pratice with fion, after spending most of the day studying in school. Still, i felt it was a pretty eventful day...*hehe, i've got 2 more of the McBears...:) i wanta form my name...the one with "yun" in it...shall not divulge my name here cos those who already know, will know...*winkz...so any contribution is greatly appreaciated...i've already got "i" and "n"...
and here's the most important thing that happened to me today...something actually happened that made me feel really proud to be a aj student...really, it's the girl who always says she does not like aj...well, i was on bus 159 and this J1 guy got onto the bus. Apparently his classmate was at the back, so he politely said "excuse me" to this "girl"...imagine what the "girl" replied...she said "why should i excuse you when you are not going to excuse me? you'd better watch out!" i was utterly shocked, the guy had not done a thing to offend her. He showed his displeasure but did not argue back. The two "girls" continued to use words like "stupid" many, many times in their "classy", better-than-thou tone, criticising for all to hear to about what they thought of their "friends". I'm not sure whether it just happened to be or that most of the passengers were simply tired, but there was a jarring silence that accentuated their unkind words even more. For those who have been wondering why i've been using inverted commas on the word girls, it's because i do not think that they are worthy of being called a girl for their uncouth behaviour.
That was not the end of it. A few stops later, the "girls" had to alight. I waited with bated breath to see how the guy, who was at the exit, would react. To my great surprise, he simply let them pass without them even needing to say "excuse me". At that moment, my heart gave an extra hard thump. I felt so proud of him, i nearly wanted to pat him on the shoulder as he walked past me. Proud of him that he had so much self-control, for being so gentlemanly. Perhaps it might seem to some that i am making a mountain out of a molehill but then this incident made me prouder of aj than any national champion title might have.
Makes one wonder, why have people become so self-centered today? Admittedly, there are times when i myself am guilty of being arrogant and selfish. but to be so inconsiderate and even so mean to one's own friends as to openly criticise them in public? I felt sad for their friends.
