they've left..
i thought i'll cry my heart out, but i din..in fact i was quite happy when we were saying goodbye, there was no time to be sad..
tears welled up in my eyes when i went to buy haw flakes from ntuc at the airport. walking through the airport, it stuck me that the airport is such a sad and yet very happy place at the same time..in the departure hall, tears are shed as people leave. Yet, in the arrival hall, many people are very happy as they are reunited once again with loved ones. :)
It occurred to me that I might never see these Japanese friends of mine ever again, I might but I might not. The idea that I was going to lose my new found friends made me sad. While packing the presents, I just got sadder. Told jx that I was scared I'll cry my heart out and her reply? Just cry lah..haha :p
We were called to go up and meet them very suddenly, there was not enough time to be sad. I din finish writing my letters, guess I'll just have to post it to them. All the better I guess, can try to provide a Japanese translation. We just took a lot of photos again. Syah and I gave out the presents we prepared - a cd of everyone's photos, a boxful of stuff, such as string, tissue, origami, saga seeds, clips, merlion keychain, haw flakes, a big box of chocolate chips and cornflakes cookies for them to share, other presents such as bag, purse, iron balls, merlion..*haha, felt like santa claus, so fun! :)
Managed to give them each a friendship band too, cos I found several that I made last time! :) Mayo picked that one I'd actually intended to give her - a pink, gray, purple and green one. Toshi picked the purple one, Yuuki got the orange and green up and down one, Yukari got the colourful one, Miho took the red, brown, orange, yellow one and Takahito ended up with the pink one..
We took a very pretty photo of our hands and our friendship bands! :) will upload it soon asap.
Was very touched when Toshi slided off the bracelets he always wears on his hands and gave it to us! :) Yuuki followed suit with his necklaces. Mayo gave us her hair rubber band. :) I was really very touched, that was the moment I came closest to tears I guess. It meant a lot to me that they gave us something so dear to them that they always wore with them :) As shumz said, even though they've gone, they've left a part of themselves behind with us.
I am really very touched. They felt so heavy as I wore them all the way home. They were not made of heavy materials but they bore the feelings of friendship, love, concern and well wishes. It is the second time I've received such gifts. The first time was the primary 5 camp at pl primary when I was in sec 3. This girl gave me and my partner her two beloved soft toy dogs. I was really very touched too. Imagine giving away something very dear to you? Especially for a child to do so.
Toshi's bracelet has the smell of his cologne. I think it's Adidas' 24th Fragrance. *haha..cos my bro uses it :p kept smelling it haha..even my hand had the smell of it :)
Even though they've gone, I know, they've only gone home. I hope they're safe home now? Will prob email them..*haha, the email will go straight to their handphone. I'm glad for them that they're going home. Really really hope to go visit them in Japan man!! The principal offered to let us stay at her house! :) Yoko Sensei also asked me to go visit them.
What words could not expressed, was expressed otherwise with actions and body language.
Mayo started crying as we were saying goodbye. gave her a big hug and tried to comfort her. I will miss her very sweet smile and manner. She's really very very sweet and adorable. :)
I will miss Mayo's sweet smile and the way she calls me "Pei..."
I will miss Yuuki's comical acts and cute mannerisms. He's the funny man.
I will miss talking to Toshi, using jissho, both electronic and otherwise, and his acting cool.
I will miss Yukari's never-complain attitude, despite being sick.
I will miss Miho's laughter and her very pink cheeks!
I will miss Takahito's quiet-ness.
gave almost everyone in my group a hug :) glad they're going home, hope they get home safely and hope I can visit them in Japan sometime!
