wen to the high comm of a neighbouring country to collect my cert of renunciation - relief! glad i'm not gonna end up in no man's land 6 months down and road :) made it in and out of the high comm in record speed, i think like 10 mins? thought they might actually send me home and ask me to come back another day, cos i reached there 20 minutes before they closed. can't be helped all the previous experiences have given me a very dodgy and inefficient impression of them..
security was visibly tighter, no thanks to the JI leader who escaped while on the way to the toilet. saw 2 traffic policemen on patrol outside the embassy and armed uniformed personnel patrolling the mrt station. yes, i hope they catch him soon, he's detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA), which means that Singapore views him as a threat. let's hope they catch him before he hatches another plan to bomb Singaporeans >.<>.< and dining alone means that you can focus on the food.
anyway, it so happened that ham chan sms-ed me and i asked her if there's anything wrong with dining alone? she said she just did that too! aha..kudos to us for being secure enough to dine alone! :p but then again, i think it depends on mood. sometimes i feel confident enough to dine alone, sometimes i just want some company. and when u really really want some company but don't have any, that's when it's the loneliest. sigh. it's always the loneliest in a crowd. i know where i hate dining alone the most - comm hall. plus the food sucks, so you really dun wanna focus on it.
there was this ang moh who came to dine alone too. poor thing. i felt that the manager was trying so hard to make an impression on him? haha, i was eavesdropping on them while waiting for my food. so this manager used to work in advertising, very proud of this nescafe jingle he came up with, how wonderful this condo he used to own was. manager did most of the talking, while ang moh was mostly quiet. alright, so we know he stays in sengkang now and how wonderful it is, it's not the outskirts, it's a new town. i'm like huh -.-" like anyone professed any interest in visiting you at all. early on in the conversation, he already invited the ang moh to his house?! he did it at least twice. i seriously doubt that they knew each other before the guy stepped into the shop. rather unprofessional and overly friendly, i feel. ok, i'm a bit bu shuang with the manager, cos he just ignored me when i was standing outside the shop :p talk about diff standards of service. poor ang moh, have to endure the soliloquy and let his food turn cold..
rem some quote that i read somewhere..
what fools know as loneliness
wise men know as solitude
well, not implying that people who do not enjoy being alone are fools, but yea it would be nice to learn to enjoy your own company :) then you will never be lonely..
Poll: would you dine alone? why? please feel free to leave responses in the comments section..
